Do I need a special Plasma for high alttitude? The answer depends on your actual elevation above sea level.
Most plasma manufacturers use Denver (5500ft above sea level) as their maximum elevation for standard screens. Using a standard screen above this level usually causes an annonying buzzing sound and increased power consumption. This is releated to how the plasma gases respond to increased atmospheric pressure.
A few plasma manufacturers make screens designed for use about 5500 feet. However, the best choice for a high altitude application may be an LCD screen, which is not affected by altitude.
